Hi,

I’m the creator of Bob The Builder, Fifi and the Flowertots and co-creator of Roary the Racing Car, and I LOVE the idea behind Up for Reading – it is a great initiative for children.

I hope that Up for Reading helps to raise much needed funds for this charity. Can Down Syndrome Education International fix it to encourage children with Down syndrome to read? YES THEY CAN!

Join Bob, Fifi, Roary and myself in supporting this very worthwhile cause.

Thank you!

Keith Chapman

Keith Chapman is supporting the Up for Reading campaign with a donation of signed and doodled books featuring his global TV successes, Bob the Builder, Fifi & the Flowertots and Roary the Racing Car.

Through his creations, Keith Chapman has given endless joy to millions of children (and parents) around the world. Following a career in advertising, Chapman moved to Jim Henson International where he designed Muppet related products and worked on programmes such as Fraggle Rock and Muppet Babies.

Drawing on experience, Chapman went on to create Bob the Builder, who made his television debut on BBC in 1999 - and turned 10 last year. Bob The Builder, owned by HIT Entertainment, was an instant success and has succeeded where many stars fail - he conquered the States!

Fifi and the Flowertots was the first of Keith’s characters to be produced by Chapman Entertainment - the television production and licensing company which he owns with co-founders Greg Lynn (Managing Director and Executive Producer) and Andrew Haydon (Commercial and Finance Director). The show has gone on to become a global sensation with sales to over 149 countries. She is one of the top pre-school properties in the UK for girls and has blossomed into a consistent ratings winner for Five’s Milkshake! and Nick Jr.

Keith designed and developed Chapman Entertainment’s second project Roary the Racing Car, which came from an original idea by David Jenkins. Roary is narrated by racing legend, Sir Stirling Moss and hilarious British comic, Peter Kay voices the lovable, Big Chris, with special appearances by the veteran voice of motorsport, Murray Walker.

In addition, Keith and the team at Chapman Entertainment are working on a wealth of other projects set for broadcast release in the UK in 2011.
