International, a UK registered charity (number 1062823).
The charity's work improves the development, education and social achievements of
many thousands of people living with Down syndrome around the world today.
One of the charity's biggest achievements has been to show that reading is a
strength for many children with Down syndrome, and that they are able to
start learning to read during their preschool years.
Alongside conducting scientific research to find out more about the ways children
with Down syndrome learn, the charity publishes books, web sites and films and provides
training that helps thousands of families and teachers all across the UK and in
over 130 countries around the world.
